Pilates in the library

Increase your body control and strength while relaxing your mind at Sam Merrifield Library. This class is suitable for all fitness levels and you need no prior experience. Please wear appropriate clothing for exercise when attending. Mats are supplied or you can bring your own. Places are limited, so if you would like to book all 10 sessions to secure your place, staff can assist you.

Page Turners: Adult Winter Reading Challenge

Knitted teddy bears

Knit for Alannah and Madeline Buddy Bags

Come along and knit items for the Alannah & Madeline Foundation’s Buddy Bags. Buddy Bags are backpacks full of basic, essential items gifted to vulnerable children. This event is aimed at people who cannot attend the Monday afternoon knitting group. Bring your own supplies, share skills and ideas with others. Free, bookings necessary.

These works focus on memories, dreams and the subconscious, exploring domestic interiors, since the home is where we dream and memories are made. It is also an intimate place, where we can retreat into our own mind space. Free, no bookings required.

Local multimedia artists Kate Baggs and Sarah Sheldon work across a range of mediums from fibre art and embroidery, to ceramics and visual art. This exhibit features floral literary-inspired embroidery and modern multimedia pieces reflecting the natural world. Free, no bookings required.

Drawing and water colour still life classes

Artist and tutor Patricia Goldby will facilitate water colour still life art classes running over 6 weeks, enabling you to learn new artistic skills, engage creatively with your local community and meet new friends. Each week you will be presented with a still life representing ‘our heritage’ from first peoples to post war immigration. Enjoy learning in a fun, non-judgmental environment, absolutely no experience necessary. These classes are for adult learners.
