Essendon Symphony present Beautiful Melodies

6 Aug at 2:30pm

This concert features some of the most beautiful and popular romantic music ever written. Including Mendelssohn’s sweepingly romantic Hebrides Overture (often known as Fingal’s Cave), the gloriously expressive and divine Elgar Cello Concerto and Dvorak’s New World Symphony, regularly voted the most popular symphony in the world. Our soloist for the Elgar is Melbourne’s own Luke Severn, winner of Monash University’s Concerto Competition in 2015 who is fast gaining a reputation as one of Melbourne’s finest virtuosos.

These pieces are among the most loved of the romantic era with strong and beautiful melodies guaranteed to pull on the memories and the heart strings.
